@SOTN Bitcoin Discussion on YouTube
Last month Internet policy leaders gathered at the 2014 State of the Net Conference in Washington, DC to discuss the trends in technology that challenge Washington policymakers. Perhaps the most fascinating development in Internet technology is the rise of virtual, math-based currency. The most well-known Internet currency is bitcoin and renowned academics and business leaders came together to discuss what bitcoin is and why it is disrupting traditional payment systems.
In case you missed it the YouTube video of “The Third Era of Currency: How the Internet, Mathematics, & Bitcoin are Innovating Money” is available now for viewing. The discussion was led by Washington Post reporter Andrea Peterson and featured Bitcoin Foundation general counsel Patrick Murck and academics Ed Felten and Susan Athey. If you want to understand how virtual currency promises to transform transactions take a moment to cue this video for viewing. The full panel description and the other panelists are here.
