🗳️ Two Deadlines, Two Ways to Get on Stage at State of the Net! People’s Choice ⚡
Submit Your Talks
Let The People Decide!
Have a bold idea about the future of technology policy? We want to hear it!
State of the Net 2027 is accepting proposals for our popular five-minute Lightning Talks, and this year we’re introducing something new: the People’s Choice Award!
For the first time, we’re giving the public a voice in choosing a Lightning Talk speaker.
NOVEMBER 19 — People’s Choice Deadline
Submit early and let the people decide!
Proposals submitted by November 19 can opt into our inaugural People’s Choice competition.
A selection committee will identify finalists, whose proposals will be put to a public vote. Finalists can rally their networks, build support for their ideas, and compete for a speaking slot at State of the Net 2027.
And submitting early doesn’t take you out of consideration for the regular selection process.
DECEMBER 1 — Final Lightning Talk Deadline
Not interested in People’s Choice? You can still submit your proposal through December 1, 2026, close of business, for consideration through our regular selection process.
Got Five Minutes to Change the Conversation?
Lightning Talks are short, dynamic presentations that bring fresh perspectives to the technology policy debates shaping Congress and beyond.
Whether your idea explores AI, cybersecurity, privacy, emerging technologies, or the future of the Internet, we want to hear your perspective.
Submit by November 19 for two opportunities to get on stage!
